About Christian Walker
Throughout 20+ years of home-schooling, university, and professional life, I have never stopped birding. What began as a young birder’s excitement has matured into a deep passion for birds and birding in Texas, the US, and beyond. Over the past several years I have become more involved in the Texas Ornithological Society, attending meetings and volunteering to lead field trips. These volunteer guiding experiences have made me realize that I want to start birding for others, so I started Montezuma Birding in August 2025 in order to share my love for birds and birding with you via affordable, custom and private guided tours. Whether it is a simple bird walk at Mountain Creek Preserve or a week-long tour around the state, I will use my dedication, experience, and local knowledge to help you find the birds you want to see.
Destinations and Pricing
As part of my mission at Montezuma Birding to share my love of birds with birders of all levels, I try to keep my pricing affordable. $100/half day or morning, $200/full day, but my prices can increase with group size. I also charge a stipend for food, travel, and lodging costs for longer and more distant destinations.I am based in Irving, Texas, and am available for any destination in Texas and especially north-central Texas. I plan to expand birding destinations across the US and eventually Mexico and Central America. Additionally, I seek to cultivate an educational aspect to my tours, which can be tailored to include specific bird identification, field notes and sketching, eBirding, and digiscoping depending on your goals and desires.
